1.2.1.05 Jobseeker payment (JSP) – description

What is JSP?

JSP is the working age payment that changed NSA from 20 March 2020.

JSP is an earnings assistance payment that supplies financial help to people aged 22 years to age pension age who have capability to work now or in the near future and prepared to satisfy mutual commitment requirements.

JSP will include gain access to for people who have actually temporarily quit working or studying to recover from a health problem or employment injury but who have a job or study to go back to. When the inability ends, and unless excused from mutual commitments requirements (3.11.5), a recipient should:

– get involved in or want to take part in approved activities, employment and/or task search, and
– be prepared to participate in, abide by or vary an existing Job Plan to satisfy the shared obligation requirements (3.11 ).

How is JSP privilege figured out?

JSP is determined on a day-to-day basis and is paid in arrears, usually in instalments of 2 week. Instalment durations of less than 2 week may be paid where a person modifications their payday arrangements.

Supplementary support

Recipients receiving JSP MAY likewise get one or more of the following as part of their JSP rate:

– lease help (1.2.7.10).
– energy supplement (1.2.7.50).
– pharmaceutical allowance (1.2.7.20).
– remote area allowance (1.2.7.80).
– approved program of work supplement (1.2.7.180).

Background to JSP

JSP was presented on 20 March 2020. The following payments progressively stopped as part of the creation of JSP:

– NSA (1.2.1.10) (stopped on 20 March 2020).
SA (1.2.5.30) (near brand-new recipients on 20 March 2020 and stopped on 20 September 2020).
BVA (closed to brand-new recipients on 20 March 2020 and ceased when all existing receivers finished their bereavement period).
WA (1.2.3.30) (near new on 1 July 2018 and ceased on 1 January 2022).
WP (1.2.3.20) (closed to new recipients on 1 July 1995 stopped on 20 March 2020).
PA (1.2.2.10) (near to brand-new receivers on 20 September 2003 stopped on 1 January 2022).
WidB (1.2.3.40) (closed to brand-new receivers on 20 March 1997 ceased on 20 March 2020).
